The Balearic Islands will benefit from aid of 2,944,884 euros from the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITECO) in order to set up various thermal renewable energy installations in different sectors of the economy.

This grant is part of the Recovery Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), as reported by Balearic government sources on Tuesday, December 28.

The objective is to place thermal renewable energy sources in productive sectors such as industry and agriculture, but also to diversify into infrastructure and public sector establishments.

Further, the next step is to include the actions of companies in the residential sector in this major plan, so that they can contribute to the decarbonization of the economy and remain competitive in a market more oriented towards this type of ‘energy.

As big companies want to move towards renewables, the cash injection will help the Balearic Islands‘ plans follow the direction in which others are heading.
