The Balearic Islands launch a campaign to save water

A new awareness campaign will encourage visitors to save water in the Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency hopes this will help alleviate water shortage issues.

Xisco Mateu, director of the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency, said:These initiatives are also crucial to increasing the islands’ resilience to future droughts.”

The campaign consists of a video and a series of short clips explaining the region’s individual needs, followed by advice and a call to action.

This Balearic-specific campaign will spread the word online in the five languages of the archipelago’s main tourist markets: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

All campaign content is accessible via the project’s microsite, also available in five languages, as well as an accessible QR code found on partner tourist accommodation sites.

Workshops and meetings with the tourism sector and local administrations will also be organized in order to communicate on water saving initiatives.
