According to data from the TravelgateX platform, September bookings in the Balearic Islands exceeded 2019 levels.
The islands recorded 11.28% more trips to the islands compared to the same month of the year before the global health pandemic, data showed.
Although bookings in the Balearics decreased by 15.2% between September 20 and 27 compared to the previous week, the same data shows an increase of 298.2% compared to the same period in 2020 and an increase of 11.28% compared to 2019.
Island vacations account for 11.83 percent of total domestic bookings and the majority (21.19 percent) are booked between 15 days and one month in advance.
Overall, almost half of reservations (49%) are for stays of two to five nights.
Almost half (49 percent) are couples and relative to the origin of vacationers, 71.95 percent of bookings were made by domestic tourists.
