Tourism bosses in holiday hotspots in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are expanding an offer of free Covid insurance in a bid to reassure visitors it is safe to visit.
The Balearic Islands Tourism Agency (AETIB) has confirmed that its Covid-19 insurance, free to all international visitors for stays in any regulated accommodation, will be extended until December.
The extension of the policy aims to restore travelers’ confidence and stimulate demand, particularly targeting families during the October semester.
The traditional destinations Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera make up the Balearic Islands, which is one of the most popular holiday regions for British visitors.
The contract covers medical, surgical and hospitalization costs up to a ceiling of € 15,000, medical transport and repatriation costs, as well as the costs of extending the stay in regulated accommodation for the insured and his companions.
He also undertakes to bear the costs resulting from the extension of the insured’s stay due to self-isolation or quarantine due to Covid-19. A helpline in English (+34 900 100 124) for tourists is also available and free of charge.
During the autumn months, the Balearic Islands continue to offer warm temperatures ideal for hiking, biking and outdoor exploration, as well as excellent gastronomy, authentic villages and beautiful landscapes.
